that is a POWERPOINT extension (ppt.) You need MICROSOFT OFFICE programs (excel, access, word and powerpoint) They all usually come in a bundle.. you can download a pirated copy some where on the net, but the best way is to buy it.. MOST Colleges have accounts with Microsoft and they will get you a copy "for educational purposes"... Ask your computer instructors..

A .ppt is a Powerpoint file. Powerpoint is a slideshow creator. You can get a free viewer (allows you to view but not create slideshows) from here:

you need Microsoft powerpoint, or microsoft powerpoint viewer which is free to download on microsoft's site, but you can only look at existing slides; you can't edit or create ones yourself.
