I got my ears pierced when I was only 3 weeks old but about 2 months ago I got them peirced again! This is how it feels...
First there's a pinch then it gets REALLY HOT and burns. The worst part is there's this horrible crunching noise that the little gun thing makes when it clips the back on to the earring! CLEAN THEM EVERYDAY CUZ IF THEY GET INFECTED IT WILL HURT!!!!!!!! Finnaly my last piece of advice is leave the earrings in longer than subscribed and only change them every week or month wash your hands after touching your ears too!

it probably scared the crap out of you when you were that young
it's a loud "shot" sound next to your ear and usually it pinches a bit, but I'm guessing you are getting a 2nd set of holes in or elsewhere? the higher up your ear you go, the more nerve endings there are and likely the more it will hurt. keep it clean with soap and water, and make sure to twirl your earings for about 2 or 3 weeks every day 2ce a day.

My 10 year old daughter got her ears pierced about two months ago. She wanted it ssssoooo bad, but she almost chickened out when it was time to do it. The woman at Claire's had the thing up to her ear and my daughter started freaking out. I took her hand and the woman pierced her ear. My daughter stopped and said, "Oh! Was that it?" Yes. "Wow! That wasn't so bad." And the other ear, then, was no problem.

Yes, it hurts when you get your ears pierced. Some places hurt more than others (especially the upper ear, nose; etc.). Make sure you keep it very clean, and follow their instructions carefully so it will heal and not get infected. Mine got infected, and really hurt. It is worth it, I think. Compared to breaking an ankle, it's minor. And heals much faster. Good luck.

pain is a subjective feeling and in each age group there a different perception to it. ear piercing is a quick maneuver whether using a needle(be sure to sterilize it to prevent infection(tetanus) or a piercing gun (safest way). The secret is to numb your ear first using an ice just before piercing.

No - it is cruel to do to a baby. They scream in pain and it is very sad. It should only be done on people who are capable of understanding that it will hurt and who actually want it done to them.
It feels like a bee sting - that is the closest thing I can relate it to. It hurts for a minute or two and then a little stinging.

get it done with a needle, not a gun, you can get bad infections or even AIDS because there is blood left on the gun from other people. in my opinion the needle hurts less too.
