Either the heating element needs replacement (most probable if nothing else has changed), you have put it on the wrong setting, or the switch has become faulty.

It's possible to replace the heating element in your dryer but you have to know what you're doing. Unless you're really handy, you'll need to call a professional. Just getting the back off the dryer requires special tools. Call a couple of places and ask for an estimate. And check out the prices of a new dryer.

There's a simple way to check the "Heating element". Use a volt/ohm meter. Use the ohm meter and if the element has infinite resistance it means the element is bad. Cracked or broken.
A newer dryer can run a self diagnostic on it's self. But, sometimes the only way is through the process of elimination. Check the element first. Sometimes there is also have a fusible link.

It is possible that the heating element is no longer good; however, it is also possible that current has been cut to the heating element because of a blown fuse or thrown circuit breaker. In most dryers that are on a 220 circuit, "half" of the circuit goes to the motor to run the drum, and the other "half" goes to the heating element. It *is* possible for one breaker to be thrown while the other is still perfectly ok. I learned this the hard way, and ended up buying a dryer I didn't need!

Heating element has burned out,or the dryer is not getting the 220 volts, just getting 120 volts to run the motor. You will get cold air only.

Get a software Knife, some backyard hose and a hose clamp. a hose clamp must be gotten at Wal-mart for more beneficial or less $5 usd for one of those sizes. Ciut the backyard hose at about 2 inches with the software knife and positioned a slit lenthwise it the hose also. Wrap the hose around the hollow (that's more beneficial valuable if the water is on for this, that way you recognize once you've it.) Then positioned the the ideal decision length of hose clamp round it. make sensible the Hose clamp is going precisely over the pin hollow. you may tighten the clamp adequate so that you'll be able to move it arround and get it over the hollow. Tighten it down and wipe with a dry towel and search for any leeks. once you've leaks re-adjust the clamp and tighten. Now, pin holes do not oftentimes improve in copper except there is something incorrect. in case you dont fix the incorrect difficulty you've more beneficial. it must be quite some stuff like airborne dirt and airborne dirt and mud in the strains, it must be undesirable instalation like too a lot flux on or in the pipe.(if it truly is the case hit upon a fashion to flush the line with warm water.) it must be bi-metallic conductivity. once you've the different metallic except copperor brass touching the copper it is going to reason a small electric powered cost to be created and could ultimately reason a deterioration of the copper.

Sounds like the heating element is out in your dryer you will probably need to call a repair man

The heating element must be broken. This looks like a spring that is looped several times and sits on a ceramic plate. I have encountered the same problem and fixed it by replacing this part.
good luck!!!

Heating coil is "shot." Would probably be cheaper to buy a new dryer than to pay to replace the old coil.
