They're a cheap econobox and the styling isn't the most exciting out there. It's not that they are bad cars - they hold up about as well as can be expected for a sixteen year old car - but they just aren't very glamorous. And given what you can buy one for now, they definitely aren't a status symbol. Some people may take it for a poverty symbol instead, and that may be where you get a lot of the hate.

I'm something of a fan of them myself, as I've seen some pretty good examples of what they can do with the right mods. I've seen one run an 11 second quarter mile with some junkyard parts out of Chrysler's turbo K-cars.

They are not the prettiest car, but in their day they were economical. I had a 5 speed and other than routine maintenance I don't think I ever had a problem. Maybe a new fuel pump at some point.

Bottom line though is that they are now all pretty old and beat up. Cars like that don't hang on like an old car with a quality built V-8.

its really amazing how wrong peoples opinions can be!! i get the same crap from those that wonder why i want to drive my 1989 ford festiva with 263k on it. first off i like to run things into the ground and get my money out of them. and second the assumption that high quality and high price are always synonymous isn't always correct. i know many people with 50k $Cadillac escalades that will never see 250k. and they have spent many more dollars than i per mile to keep their overpriced junks on the road. the same applies to jaguars. they are very expensive and maintain and their reliability is suspect. i say fix your little car and let the fools say what they will. you and i will get the last laugh because we will have our money in the bank making interest, while they have theirs in a high dollar piece of junk that depreciates faster than enron stock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Being incorrect is usually a attending to entice close adventure (or it must be). frequently, you may study more beneficial by using being incorrect than you ought to be from being excellent. unusual how maximum religions look to imagine that existence isn't a attending to entice close adventure and that some type of eternal existence is the "cost" for being incorrect or excellent.
