Why does the bottom of the Forever 21 bags say John 3:16? Are they referring to the Bible? They all say that.

I was wondering the same thing. So here's the answers:

" Forever 21 is somewhat ironically a Christian company and clothing bags from the company have the words John 3:16 printed underneath."

"Perhaps because of their devout Christianity, as represented by John 3:16 printed on the bottom of their shopping bags, the couple doesn't believe in debt, is strict about keeping costs lean and reinvests its profits into expansion."

Yea, I noticed that too the last time I shopped there. I think they are referring to bible but I have no clue why. I looked up the verse on the web and the verse reads : "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[a] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Hope that helps.

It's a referrence to the greatest load of crap in the world... If God so loved the world... then why the hell did he make the forbidden fruit when he knew before hand that Adam and Eve would eat it. Looks like he would have went out of his way the first time to make sure they would never sin to keep us holy. But he didn't and Jesus had to die for his lack of forethought. With enternity past... one can only imagine that he'd had enough time to plan his project more thoroughly.

I had heard this verse referred to as "the Gospel in a nutshell" because it summarises the central Christian message in just one sentence.
