the ant like creature had smoothed hair in apperance not spiky hair. Tan body brown stripes. Adomen was long and chubby. thorax was tan in color, sheld shaped yet round. The head was dark brown or black. I did not notice antena. I hope some one with an entomology back ground can answer me.

we used to call the "Lion Ants"
just put it outside.

I'm not an entomologist but there are several different colors and types of velvet ants.

sounds like a cow or bull ant..... kill it... they bite hard
