I haven't heard this generalization about Jewish kids, but Indians and Chinese for sure. It's because education is prioritized in those countries, and most importantly by PARENTS.

Their cultures are different... Most of who you mentioned have good work ethics taught to them by their parents and community. American culture is lazy and always waits for "someone else" to do something... Sometimes religion instills discipline, as long as you don't say a specific religion makes you smart... Also, having a rich heritage and culture provides for a sense of self and confidence that many Americans lack... Hope this works for you! Peace!!!

I can only speak for Chinese.

It's in the Chinese tradition to climb the social ladder through studies, then go to a good college, get a good diploma and then a good job that pays well. This is especially true to those who do not have an influential family background and social connection to rely on, hence typical of Chinese immigrants to foreign countries.

They respect their parents.. They respect themselves..
These children are still being raised to honor their father and mother, and grandparents.. I don't believe they're given everything (materialistic) that other kids as soon as they get what they want, are so bored with.
Hats off to these parents, for being true parents. Hats off to these kids!
God bless..

Little or no gangsta rap, and their parents care enough and know enough to instill family values and discipline in them.

i think that that is a broad generalization. i've known many students from many backgrounds and some do well while others don't, regardless of ethnic affiliation.
