In the claims we get from people in our health insurance office, it seems to me that it's about half and half, among ladies who are unmarried. Some give the baby their own name, and some give them the name of the father.

If you think that the two of you will be married at some point in time, it would be a good idea to use his name. That will make it much less complicated, since then the three of you will all have the same name.
