i need lots of help cuz i gots lots of home work plz!!

Yes, I think it does. Part of telling a story is the hope of getting your audience, whether it be readers or watchers, to get involved enough in it that they forget they're reading or watching.

Noticing something like a fake label on a can of pop, for instance, immediately throws you out of the story and back into the world of reality. You might miss part of the storyline then, because your mind automatically skims over the reasons for that fakeness, or whatever. Regardless of WHERE your mind goes, it still goes, and your attention is no longer on the story.

I find that I even do that now when someone gives a phone number in a movie or on a show. I understand that they had good reason for creating that "555" prefix for numbers, but I don't believe it's necessary any longer, with so many area codes existing within small areas with large populations - so it catches my ear and takes my mind away from the story for a moment.

Anyway, yes, authenticity definitely makes a show more realistic. To me.
