I have a (decent) job at a doctor's office making fairly decent money. Actually, because of my past experience in Emergency Medical Services, I make more than some who have been there longer than me. Because of a slip up (not mine), the word on my salary is out. Now there are a few who just will not quit looking for reasons to complain about me to the office manager. I have had my fill of being called to the office, so I have decided to give my resignation. Is this the right thing -- to let them win? I THINK will be happier elsewhere, but could this just be because of them? HELP!

BEFORE YOU LEAVE--please interview for, and get ANOTHER JOB..The economy is not very good--and please line up another job before you leave this one..

Right now, those witches have really upset you.I know how you feel, because I am going through the same thing. My boss is On My Case, and I have some backstabbers reporting every slip-up I make. Its a pain..But I am not quitting my job! What I did do is report them to the corporate office for harassment. That usually scares the heck out of people.--it did.

Why dont you report this to Human Resources as harassment? Explain that your co-workers are upset about your high salary, and they are harassing you. Give dates about incedences that have happened. There are laws agianst people creating "hostile work environments". Those tattle-tales on your job need to be taught a lesson :)

Peace

The question you need to ask yourself is whether or not you foresee anything happening that could make the situation improve at your current position. If there is something that you or your managers could do to improve things, then stick around.

My guess is that there is little or nothing you can do and that your co-workers are jealous and immature. Otherwise, they wouldn't be wasting a business' time by tattling or making things up.

If you want to advance yourself, you would do better to work in an environment with more mature people.

I think that's the absolutely WRONG decision. You nailed it on the head...if you quit, that means the haters win.

You deserve a higher salary, because of your experience. I'd love to say "Don't let it get to you," but I know it's hard.

Your co-workers aren't necessarily going to be any better at another job, and I believe this will pass with your current co-workers.

I'd say Hold your head up high, and laugh with them if they give you a bad time. Mind yourself, and don't make mistakes, because at least right now, you don't have people watching your back.

Good luck!

If they are harassing you now, just think how bad it can get, do you not deserve better for yourself. starting work everyday with knots in your stomach. This is no the the way it should be, if you can't get across to your boss, whats going on them Go on interviews, and check around for somewhere else. Its time to move on. Good Luck

Well, the way I see it, it's not about winning, but about moving on, from them. It sounds like they're stuck in dead-end jobs, and that brings out the vindictive and the petty in some people.

I wouldn't let them win. Jealousy would subside eventually, or at least fade into the background. If you ever get the chance I recommend confronting one of the complainers and say "I make more money than you for a reason. Get over it."

if you want to leave leave, however please consider setting a timeline to see if the whole thing blows over
say 3 months or six months, then if you still need to move on, do so
