Yes, it's true, he is the best goalkeeper, anyone who doesn't see it is blind. He is the master of saving penalties.

It is hard to say.. definately Lehman and Ricardo did the best job. But if I had to pick one I would say Ricardo because #1 he stopped more total pks, and #2 he didn't need a "cheat sheet" piece of paper like Lehman did. (He must have memorized the cheat sheet or maybe is just awesome at reading the kickers.

no... Ricardo Pereira

A string of saves by Ricardo allowed Portugal once again knock out England in the quarter-finals of a major championships on penalties, this time the 2006 FIFA World Cup as he saved from Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher in a 3-1 shoot-out win after a 0-0 draw after extra time. It is the first time during a World Cup event, that a goal keeper has managed to stop 3 penalties.

He was great, but Ricardo was better - and the best one on pks.
Lehmann impressed me so much in another skill - high balls.
In Germany - Italy match, he blocked ALL crosses - something as 12 - since 2nd extra time. On second one he didn't try to block, Italy found a corner kick and the first (Grosso's) goal.
This was the best performance I ever seen in high balls blocking.
To complete my ranking, Buffon is my best in overall skills.

Lehmann as well as Portugal's Ricardo I think had the best performances in penality shootouts. I dont think Buffon was as good as either of them in penalties although he did do a pretty good job throughout the world cup.

i think Lehman is overrated. Ricardo was the best pk goalie cuz he blocked almost all his pk's n the ones he didn't block he dove in the correct direction but they were impossible. n Buffon was the best overall goalie.

Lehman... come on!! There's a better penalty stopper than him anytime. He's just a big, proud & arrogant German.

I,m from argentina, unfortunately for us he had a good performance.
He had done his homework studying the way every player shoot penalties.
Obviously it's something every goalkeeper has to do.
I think he is a great goalkeeper.
