Girls can wear Tampax when they are ready for them. Most young girls are physically active so tampons are easy, comfortable and for active girls a necessity. "Some" people that have the information about there being a issue with virgins and tampons are very misinformed. Both my young daughters wear them without problems. I do tell them to wear a pad at night, and to change the Tampax not more every 4-6 hours. I suggest you buy a box and read about them. Stay away from the ones with fragrance, don;t flush them and buy the ones marked, slim or junior.

Girls should not wear tampons period in my opinion because of Toxic Shock Syndrome, but if you must then I suggest a good age is 17. As you grow older your body changes and maybe you might could handle tampons. I know I couldn't and at the age of 23 I still can't. It also may depend on if you are a virgin or not. If you aren't a virgin then maybe you can handle using tampons. To me trying to put the tampon in felt like I was putting a piece of dry cardboard up there. Very painful and Not comfortable. You can try and see if you can handle it, but if not don't force it.

Tampons will not affect a girl's virginity, or the hymen, but for some it is uncomfortable to wear them while they are still a virgin. However, there is no set age, just try one and see how it feels. Some women can never wear them, even after having kids.

I think a safe age would be around 16, your body is more developed and can handle a tampon a lot better then if you started your period at age 12.

Not having sex makes you a virgin not wearing tampons. And if you are old enough to have a period you are old enough to wear a tampon. Its all about what you are comfortable with.

Those people are christian fundamentalists with nothing to do all day except tell girl's that they can't wear tampons. If you're comfortable with wearing one, then do so. If you're not, then don't. It's really just a matter of personal preference.

It has nothing to do with virginity. If a girl is old enough to have her period, then she's old enough to wear a tampon.

I started with my very first period, at age 12. I had a ballet recital and wasn't about to wear a pad with a leotard.
It's no big deal. Buy the small, junior size if you're nervous.

It really depends on what you think. To me I think pads are more comfortable. If you are going swimming or are athletic a tampon is probably better though. Age in my opinion isn't really a big deal.

Girls hould start with tampons when they need internal mentrual protection. This should not be influenced by other factors except for her own choice.
