gaterxxx,
I think that I know what happened. Anyways, I think that you were just asking a question from a historical perspective?

"when did it become ok to be gay."
I really don't know. I figure it was a long struggle, as with most large alternative groups. A lot of bloodshed, bad feelings, and a lot to learn. Kinda like right now! lol

When was it NOT ok to be gay???? I have been Gay my entire life, married and have kids, discovered I was gay, and now am very happy to be me....again I will ask, when was it NOT ok to be gay...it has always been ok with me and the people I know (most of which are straight). When did you discover you are a homophobe? That is the real question here. And it matters not to me if you are Christian or whatever. The only time I ever see that it is a "sin" to do homosexual acts is in the Bible or Koran...and you say it is NOT religion? Step back and take a look at your question, your tone, and your references...I think you will see why you get the reaction you get. You deserve it.

Because the way you ask the question implies that you feel it's wrong to be gay. That's like being white and asking "When did it become ok to be black? It's a stupid question, and it implies ignorance. If you're not gay then how would you possibly know what it's like to be gay? Did you decide to be straight? Did you wake up one day and decide that you'd be straight the rest of your life? Of course you didn't you've always been straight - same for us.

Reasons why your questions are completely idiotic:
You are asking when did it become okay to be gay...in the LGBT section and then asked why everyone got offended. Pretty stupid.
You're complaining without using spell check. Your content, spelling, and grammar are the only ways to figure out what kinda person you are. From that, I'd say you're pretty damn stupid.

Sorry yet i'm no longer gay, yet this question intrigued me. If I have been to think of logically approximately it, maximum gay might probable combat against the assumption of homosexuality being an abomination. If no longer that they are going to denounce Christianity or experience they are unsuitable, or a mistake and hated interior the eyes of God. that's what I see the probabilities as. i do no longer see homosexuality as any sort of abomination, i detect it commonly used as each and everything else. If a guy or woman is gay, they ought to stay with who they are, no count what every physique thinks, and choose a faith it is greater acceptable for who they are, or do what I do, i've got self belief in God and worship him in my view, devoid of the help of prepared faith or policies, circulate alongside with your ideals, thats what the yank u . s . is consistent with inspite of each and everything.

It has always been ok to be gay. AS times change it has simply evolved from its ok to be gay so long as no one nows to its ok to be yourself and honest about it like everyone else has enjoyed being the whole time. And at some point poeple will begin to ask when it became ok to be straight lol!Dont let it get to you either way. People are people, just let them be themselves.

I looked at this question, and the previous one to which you refer. In both cases, your tone seems to be somewhat accusatory, and I'm pretty sure that's why you got blasted.

I'm not sure if you meant to be that way, but it comes off that way. Remember there a lot of hateful people out there who post in this section, so if you sound a little bit like them, people may pounce on you without justification.

Your Avatar looks very angry, along with the tone of your questions. Maybe become a little more well - versed in your literacy to get the responses you desire.

I think when you asked the question, it should have stated: when did we feel comfortable coming out to people and start being honest with ourselves and not being hurt or scared to do so. I hope that is what you meant by the question.
