What should you know about your friends before becoming roommates?

I assume you basically know you know your friends pretty well, but the one thing I would do is sit down and discuss house rules, for example, when the rent and bills are due, who does the shopping, should you go for yourself and let your roommates buy what they like. Responsibility, does the person pay their bills on time? Meaning the rent, you don't want to find yourself suddenly living in a cardboard box behind the I.G.A. Do they have a solid job to pay the rent on time? Habits, clean habits, in all ways! Does the person let you go about your own business or is the person nosy? and has to always know what you are doing? Other than that, I guess you will find out the worse when living together. Think of it this way, it will be a trial run for when you find a man to live with, most of the kinks will have straightened out by then and you will be almost home free.
