icon at bottom shows two unsecured networks in range;
And says that it is connected to one of them
the guy i bought the computer from says it was working fine for him

Your computer is searching for a wireless network but if there isn't a wireless network around it will say that. try buying an external card that will give you a wider range and won't tie up your processor

your pc is trying to connect to the unsecured network which is more than likely out of range of your pc...you need to bite the bullet and get your own broadband account set up with a wireless router and stop stealing your neighbours internet

you have to have a wirless router or something like that...do you ahve one? if not maybe the signal is too low
