I never took any exams or have any experience in the field. Is there classes and books to check out?

I would look to your community college for help if you don't have one then ask a hospital.... I have friends that went to school at a community college about 20 minutes away.....

First find a college or talk to someone in the education field. In my city, there is a guy who teaches privately... but he's not very good. But at my college they have a one semester course. It's about $500 + about $100 for the book. The classes are maybe two days a week, but pretty rough hours. They have to cram a lot into you in a little time. After the course is over you usually do your skills. You have to pass that (which you'll learn more about) and then take a national registry test. You also have to do ride time during the time you take classes; meaning you have to work with your ambulance service for so many hours for personal experience.

Most Community Colleges have EMT and Fire training classes... if you can not find anything make a call or even better take a field trip to you local hospital, EMT center, or Fire Station... ask a few questions... If you are serious they will be eager to offer suggestions and point you in the right direction!

Good luck,

I hope you succeed

Want to get paid to become an EMT? Go into the National Guard. If you go into the Medical Assistant training you get a $20,000 sign on bonus plus weekly or monthly pay and emt cert upon graduation.
