Is it ok for a man to punch a woman in the face in self defense, if she's attacking him with a weapon?

Personally, if a woman had a weapon and was trying to kill me, I'd definitely be willing to knock her out by punching her in the face if that's what I needed to do to save my life or prevent serious injury.

If anyone regardless of race, religion, or gender is trying to do you physical harm, you have the right to defend yourself.

If you don't stop this person they might go on to kill someone else, so in essence you are protecting yourself and the next potential victim.

Well, you're never supposed to hit a lady... but anyone that comes at me with a weapn isn't being very ladylike, now is she? In general, unarmed defense against armed attacks is always appropriate.

Of course, depending on the woman, you may face criminal charges for hitting her... but it's better to be tried by twelve peers than to be carried by eight pall bearers.

PS Face shots are probably not your best choice. They're usually expected, and easy to dodge. Also, they earn her a lot more sympathy in court. Body shots take less preparation, and then you can grab for the knife arm... or try for a good kick in the groin, and if you miss you'll probably bust her knee cap, which will slow her down anyway. But punches are better, because she might cut your leg, and then you won't be able to get away.

There has to be a limit to everything. If the guy did not deserve to be attacked in such a manner then he has all the right in the world to self defense. I would try to run from them, but that is just me. If he tries to defend himself and the police came, I would certainly testify the truth, he was being attacked by multiple 'female individuals.'

Yes!! I'm a chick and if I were a man and some lady tried to attack me w/ a weapon I would definitely knock her out. So don't feel bad if you did or will. But if she is slow i would try and make a run for it and turn her in, she could hurt someone else.

Ok, if she has a weapon, how can you can you get that
close to her face to punch it?
Are there more circumstances? Could run out the door or
call 911?
If it is truly life threatening, definitely defend yourself.

I agree with you...It would be okay to shoot the ***** (to kill) if she's attacking you with a weapon. Being a woman doesn't give anyone the right to cut or maim or possibly kill anyone, men included.

Some of these chicks see this kind of behavior on TV and movies and think it's cool...it is so not cool!

I'm a firm believer that there is no nice way to hit a person - do it hard - as few times a possible and make them count.

If the threat existed (knife, gun, stick or even a frying pan) then escalated force is acceptable. If there is any way possible to control and restrain with out this grievous force, then you may be liable for your actions.

Otherwise - do what you have to do to end the confrontation quickly!

Absolutely. There should never be a double standard in this sort of thing. A man shouldn't beat his wife, but a woman shouldn't beat her husband either. Some people seem to think a woman hitting a man is funny, but it's just as unfunny as a man hitting a woman.

But in self-defense, knock ker out. Shoot her, too.

If they are just attacking you, then dont hit her, because: You are a man and should be able to take the pain. BUT if she had a weapon it would be ok. Hitting a woman for no reason is messed up.

If she was attacking you, then use reasonable force(Damn this is a weird question!!), but from the way you're talking...I don't know, playa. One could use that same logic if a woman was attacked by a MAN. Get it?
