Valets and refs..?

Question

I was wondering if there are any woman referees? I've never seen any.. does anybody know why there aren't many? Also, what are the chances of becoming a valet for a wrestler (ex: is there a lot of unemployment)? I would like as much info as possible because I'm thinking of going to a wrestling school to become either a referee or a valet. Thanks!! :)

Sometimes in the WWE they will have a woman ref a match. It's usually a women's match. The only women that I've actually seen ref have been Jacqueline, Sunny (when she was with the WWF - back then in the 90's) and Sable.

The reason that women are not referees is because honestly, if you think about it, if you were say The Big Show, and there was a woman referee who probably weighed in at 100 lbs, no man that size (or any other man/wrestler) is going to pay attention, so it would diminish the referee's authority.

You will have a better chance of becoming a valet, but please be advised that for both a valet position and/or a referee position (should you decide that you would like to still try for being a referee), there are NO schools for either position. To become either one, you MUST learn to be a wrestler (thus ensuring a hiring wrestling company that you can take bumps).

Back in the late 1980s to early 1990s, the then WWF had a female referee named Rita Chatterton. She refereed both male and female matches.

She left after filing rape allegations against a WWF official.

Since then, the Divas have done the Guest Referee gimmick.

Only female refs I've ever seen is in that topless women wrestling organization (don't remember exactly what it is called)

the only women that i have seen as referees are some of the wwe divas a special referre..like candice ,torrie,trish and stuff...
