Two of our sons were kind of short when they were younger. We took them to a specialist, and we learned that puberty tends to mark the end of the growth time, because that's when the growth plates start to close.
If you have gone through puberty a few years ago already, then you may not grow much more. If you are still kind of a kid in that way, then you will probably have a tremendous growth spurt soon.
One son reached his full height at 16, but he went through puberty when he was 12 - his final adult height is 5'7". Another son reached his full height at 18, but didn't go through puberty until he was about 15. His height is 5'9" and he had a huge growth spurt between sophomore & junior year-- like 5 inches. They were both only 5'3" when they started to high school.
So-- even in the same family, not everybody is the same.
But you have to look at heredity. If both your mother's and father's families are somewhat short, you probably will not become a lot taller than any of them.
It's true that men will continue to grow until they are 21 or so.... but that is usually only a small amount of growth. Most of your true height will be achieved within 3 to 4 years after puberty, whenever that happens.
Ask your Mom how tall you were at the age of two. Double that.... and you will usually get a very good idea of what your adult height will be. (For girls, double the height at 18 months.)

Even if you don't, you are taller than a lot of females, because the average height for a woman is almost 5' 6".
You most likely will grow taller (and possibly wider or more muscular) until your mid-twenties, unless you have already had a rather early, and rapid growth spurt...but still, it can happen again ...so don't worry about it, however, enjoy being a tad shorter, clothes are cheaper for you right now...later you will wish you were not as tall, when you have to pay more for your clothes and more for big size men's shoes or special order the ones you want because what you want is no longer on the racks or shelves in your size.

If you mean that you are 5 ft. 6 and 1/2 inches, no you would not be considered a dwarf. You would be considered short in stature for a grown man....but far from a dwarf. You might grow taller (probably only an inch or two), but I wouldn't worry about it much. The average grown male is 5 ft 9 inches tall. You are not too far off the mark for average right now.
Just be the best person you can be....and I promise you if you do that you will be the tallest man in the room.

5'6" is a little shorter than average, but it is far from being a dwarf. If you want to know if you'll grow any taller, look at your family, especially parents and older siblings. Also, if you have a doctor's appointment coming up soon, ask them if you're done growing and, if not, approximately how much more you might grow.

dwarf- or little people, as they prefer to be called- does not describe you. my son was about your height at 17, and was 6'0" by the time he was 19. how tall are your male family members? an observation- a man does should not measure his worth with a ruler, but rather his deeds.

You are living a meaning less life until you discover the purpose of your life, . Look deep inside you, realise what is your life's purpose and your meaning of life. Then the world you live in will never be the same because the opportunities life throws at you are abundant and the Meaning of Life will make it clear what you want from life.
