Yes but only for very serious offense like trying to put a fork in an outlet! Running into the street, trying to choke your sister to death, you know the usual.

I have two kids and I work at a childcare facility so I have had alot of expierence dealing with kids. The families that i have seen that don't spank their kids usually have the most problems because their children run wild and don't respect them. I don't think that any child should be beaten or over spanked but I do think that every family with kids needs to have dicipline or else things get outta control. If my child misbehaves I ask them politely to stop and if that doesn't work I tell him that I am trying to be nice and if he doesn't listen or mind me I am really going to get mad and that I don't want to be mean. I ask him if he wants me to be mean and usually if he says no he will listen and do what he is told, but if he ignores me or answers back with a smart comment then I tap his mouth with my hand and repeat my self. I do think that a child can be spanked on the hand or on the bottom as long as you dont do it to hard. We are much stronger than a child so we need to remember that if taking that route in punishment. Every child is different so only you would know what type of discipline works for your child.

I don't have kids but if I did I wouldn't spank them.I was hit untill I was 16 and the emotional scars are something I deal with almost daily.I beleive there are healthier alternatives to punish kids.These days hitting your kids is considered abuse.I forgive my mom,but at times I am still resentful.And I know she regrets doing it because it put a permenant strain on our relationship.

my daughter is almost a teenager i have spanked her about 6 times in her life its been about 6 or 7 years since her last spanking thats all it has taken start when they are young and you will have less trouble my mother beat me every day im not going there with my child

I don't have kids but when I was younger my parents (more my dad) threatened me and my brother with the BELT! If i was spanked i don't remember but I do remember saying no to the belt.

When they do something really bad. I did more popping when they were little. If I said no and they did it they got popped. Now they are perfect kids for the most part.

i have none but i would spank them. i have been spanked not ABUSED but spanked and it didn't do anything negative to me.

never really had to.maybe a tap on the behind.but the thunder of my voice always worked well.
