Because white culture is a little bland compared to black and hispanic cultures. Plus rap is just the popular choice for the young'ns these days.

Well its simple. Boys always follow the bad boy culture of their time. At first you had the gunslinging tobacco chewing alcohol drinking cowboy and all boys wanted to be one. Then you had the gangsters of the 20's with nice suits and cigarette and cars and pool skills. Then you had the James dean hotrod leather coat street badboy type. Well today if you want to be a little bad *** or you think you are one who are you going to act and dress like - a frat boy..not really. The street and rap thugs just seem like the baddest toughest group out there and no wonder so many white boys try to follow it

OK, THANK YOU!

You obviously lived during the time period I WANT TO ACKNOWLEDGE!

During the 60s and 70s, Black people started to drift away from the White norms and started to find their own style and groove.

The same thing happened during the 20s and 30s with the Jazz era...

In every decade where Black people found their "groove" and style, White people would come in and try to "steal" it.

Look at Jazz... White people wanted to listen to it and dance it... Look at early forms of Rap, forms of Funk, and Soul.... White people wanted to emulate them.....

Now we have MORE White people trying to emulate the styles CREATED by Black people...

Don't they understand that the whole point Rap exists is to rebel against, THE WHITE MAN!

Look at early rappers such as The Last Poets, they rebelled against the White man with their lyrics during the Civil Rights Movement....

People just DON'T get it!

Copying is a sincere form of flattery.

Caucasians enjoy the music, the hair styles, the clothing just as African Americans like so-called Caucasian music, hair styles, and clothing.

Trends may begin with one race but they quickly become popular with people of all nationalities. Good for marketing.

Where did you grow up? I am much older than you are and we (my friends and I who are Caucasian) weren't against anything that sprang from another culture.

Culture isn't about colour! It's about how you as an individual were raised. It's about your individual right to choose how baggy your pants are or how phat you sub woofers are. I grew up in an all white, small Canadian city and I have learned to respect and even love some aspects of all ways of life.
