there are so many kinds of Jasmine......evergreen or decidulous shrubs or vines........you may need to look up the exact kind you have bought........some are ground covers and some climb....one of the best known and most fragrant plants commonly called jasmine...the star jasmine...is not a true jasmine at all but a Trachelospermum....this is the loved one that is so fragrant and climbing out of control if not pinched and shaped.

Definitely full sun, somewhere to climb, and I would add that it should be in a place with well drained soil. The roots should get moisture from rain/watering but they can be subject to rotting if they get too much water. Mine looks so pretty climbing up the wrought iron railing!

in the sun along something it can crawl up. its a very invasive plant so it will crawl up everything if you dont give it something to crwl up.
