You very well can. I had a friend give birth 3 months early. Her baby only weighed a pound and was only a foot long but she survived she is now almost 4 months old. She had to stay in the hospital for a while but she is doing good now. So don't let people tell you know. Some of the answers people give on here are so dumb...they need to get facts straight before trying to scare the hell out of people.

I think the youngest baby ever to survive was either 22 or 24 weeks, i read about it somewhere. That's why in the UK u cant have an abortion after 24 weeks cause the baby could actually survive outside the womb. I think though the likeliness is very slim.

Yes you can have a baby at 29 weeks and he/she will be fine. I had my middle son at 23 weeks and he was 1pound 8 ounces and he survived. He had the stay at the hospital for about 3 months but he made it..

When he was ready to come home, I had to get a oxygen tank just in case he stop breathing. But Thank God I never had to use it.. He is my miracle baby....

My niece was born last Sep. at 29 weeks. She was 2 1/2 pounds. She spent a lot of time in the NICU but she made it. She is now about ready to have her first birthday party. She is a big girl too, over 22 pounds. You can not tell that she was a preemie.

Babies are amazingly resilient, and diverse. Some 23 week babies survive and are just fine, and some 40 week babies die. But at 29 weeks, there's certainly plenty of hope.

Yes. My son was a preemie. He was flown to Springfield, IL. There was a baby there that was 24 weeks. I often wondered what ever happened to her. She was there prior to our stay, and was still there when we left 6 weeks later. I did hear a nurse say she would most likely have brain damage.
