who can sing but NOT hit a high note???

any one who is an alto or tenor or base. Some second sapranos can also sing alto, and some altos can also sing second saprano... I'm one of them. It sounds like to me you're expecting that you should be a saprano just because you're a girl. But that's not always the case. Some voice training may help, but maybe you're trying to sing saprano when you're really an alto. Try dropping your jaw, and don't try to squeeze it out, it should flow, and sometimes it's easier if you're louder.

i can do both at times. i can hit a high note if i really want to, but most of the time i can stick to singing and let it be that. ive been told by a friend who is a proffesional musician that i have good range, but he never said what range that was, lol. i can do a johnny cash low and then a high, so if that tells you anything...

I can sing but I would say that I can't hit a not-so high note! Not like Mariah, she is the QUEEN of high notes.

songs were written for singers in a key that they can sing in. lots of singers can hit really high notes, but it seems their vocal quality goes down. alot of high notes sung in recorded music will have extra effects put on the voice. all you have to do is find the key that is right for you, you dont have to be able to hit 4 octaves to be a good singer.

I can sing and hit a high note...I have a 3 octave range....I'm thinking you need a coach or someone to help you with vocal training.....
