heloo, i am Gothic and have been from childhood. Honestly it depends on the Goth. For me it was mostly school work and just wanting to be left alone to read and do my computer studies. For some of my friends it was an expression of artisitic difference of opinion. But no matter which of us you were talking to all the "normal" things were still there, like does he/she really like me or want to go out, ect. In some cases it is an expression of a wish to just be rid of the situation they are in if they have an abusive home, as it is the only way to get the offender to leave them alone. Would you really want to keep hitting or choking someone wearing 3 inch or longer spikes around wrists and neck? And its also not just goths who are emo, just about any type of teenager can be one, plus not all goths are wiccan ect. Some are christian. Most goths are non-violent as well, they prefer to write about rather than do harm to get it out of there system, hense the darker tales and poems you may read by them. Being gothic is not really a probelm, nor is it a religion, it is simply a matter of being.

They see things from a different prospective than most..theres NOTHING wrong with them..unless there like emo..then they might cut them selfs..but they just dont want to follow the same thing that everyone else is and choose a non-ordinary style.

Like with every generation they are expressing their individualism. Look at the styles from previous generations, lots of people want to stand out from the crowd.

theres nothing wrong with goths. its freedom of expression they want to be their own person not caring what other people think. man gothic people rock!! they are some of the nicest people.

probably the parents. they are the ones that show their children how to do every single thing from the tie they are born to the time they can make decisions on their own. another reason might just be friends. although you make it sound like a disease. so i hate to be the one to break it to you like this, but THERE iS NO CURE FOR PERSONALiTY.

we dont share one mind we have our own minds. goths can have religion
they can believe in god they can be jewish goths are usualy verry accepting.
i am an atheist and anti religion though
and most people stereotype goths saying we have terrible lives worship satan cut our selves and we just try to rebel or standout and be different. well thats all bullshit goths could be way happier with their lives than you are with yours
