I weighed 101 about 12 weeks I lost 2 lbs. I didn't gain over 101 until my 5th month (we still went by months) I was so excited to be pregnant I bought 300. worth of Maternity clothes and wore a size 7 jeans until my 7 and 1/2 month. In the end I gained 26 lbs. my daughter was 7lbs. very healthy. Sometimes it is not how much you eat but what healthy food is lower in cals. and if you used to drink beer, pop and traded for a healthier lifestyle you have cut cals. I would suggest you keep a log of what you eat for a week or so and ask your Dr. YOU Seem VERY EXCITED I wish you the best of luck.

As long as you are eating healthy, getting your rest and not over doing it too much, I'm sure you and baby are great. I just delivered a healthy 9 lb boy 7 weeks ago. I gained a total of 24 lbs and didn't really start to show until I was 6 months along (gained only 2-3 lbs at that point and was wearing normal jeans). I was pretty religious about exercising 5 days a week until I was 36 weeks or so. Every pregnant woman is different of course, but I would guess you won't start to gain most of your weight until 28-30 weeks, especially if this is your first pregnancy. My doctor told me from the beginning, you don't have to look like a cow to have a healthy pregnancy. As long as the baby is growing and doing well, and you're taking care of yourself, things are great.

If you didn't have it already, your 20 week ultrasound should calm your fears a bit. The tech will be able to give you an approximate weight of your baby and estimated due date. If this matches your original date and last missed period information, even better.

God bless and good luck with your pregnancy. There is nothing like being a Mom!

I think it is normal. Every woman is soo different. Especially if you are being active your body can just burn off what it doesn't need after the baby is taken care of. As long as the baby is gaining that is fine. Really, the only weight w woman really has to gain is on the inside..there is like 5 pounds extra blood when pregnant, and a couple for the amniotic fluid, plus the actual kid of course. If I were you I wouldnt worry. I would be happy. I gained too much with my first pregnancy and now, with my second, I am still fighting it off from the first.

Most women do not gain weight right away. If I were you though I would really watch what you eat and especially how much. Most women gain all of their weight in the last three months. All the extra eating WILL catch up to you. I have two kids and I am only 23 yrs. old. My daughter is 2 and my son is 5 months. I know from experiance about weight gain.

I didn't gain any weight until about that time either. My stomach was growing and I ended up having a baby that weighed 8-7 on her due date! I would imagine that all of the sudden you will start to gain a pound or two around now or soon. I didn't get a "bump" of any kind until this point in time. If your doctor hasn't expressed concern, I wouldn't worry about it too much. You are probably just eating healthier than you used to and your body is regulated very well and taking in all the nutrition.

I didn't gain wait until I as a little over 20 weeks, but I lost 17 pounds and I have only gained 15 of that back and I am now 40 weeks. If your doctor doesn't have a problem with it then don't worry. My baby is as healthy as can be!

dont worry too much, if ur doctor isnt worried then u shouldnt be. My best friend was a size 8(UK) before she was pregnant, a week after giving birth she fit into all her old clothes! Some ppl just dont gain a lot of weight when they are pregnant and u are still early in ur pregnancy.

everyone is different. Usually in the first pregnancy it takes a while before you start the gain and show. One night you'll wake up and it will look like you swallowed a basketball!! literally!! If you are concerned mention to your doctor the next visit!! Congrats and good luck with the pregnancy!

With my second baby I only gained 1 pound and that was the very last week of my pregnancy, it probably isn't that normal but my Dr. was not concerned and your Dr. would say something if he/she thought differently. I was 40 ibs lighter after I gave birth.
