why not...
my mother enjoys the one half every so often.
Should she be denied the pleasure simply
because of some hooligans in a far away land,
or (worse still) some religious bigot from an even
more distant place?

How many of us pushes himself through the hard days work knowing that there's a cold beer at home in the fridge. How many of us smile and nod at a shrewish mother-in-law cradling an open bottle in the crook of our arm. I honestly don't know if we would have made it as a species without beer. It is the crutch that has kept us moving when we would have fallen.

Beer is just like anything else, it is what it is and that is all. It is people who abuse/misuse it. Just like McDonald's...does anyone really think it was created for the good of society?

umm...if everyone will check, beer was never CREATED, but accidentally DISCOVERED when ppl let old bread and everything in beer get old. just like wine and grapes and other things. way back then ppl didnt have the tech we have, so when they forgot about food left out, it soured, molded, and aged, and thats how we have some of our finest and most expensive foods. i think raisins are the cheapest variety of the "accidentally discovered" foods.

No, what do you believe it was created for? I believe it was originally created by some guy who liked the effects it brought on himself, and shared it with his buddies. Eventually it was sold...(OMG someone making a profit!!! We can't have that, eh?)
