Sounds to me like your water is at least leaking, which means you should be going into labor soon, but even if you don't you'll need to be monitored. Call the doctor and tell him what's happened and let him guide you as to when to go to the hospital. If your water breaks and you don't start labor within 24 hours, they will probably want to induce labor because there is a risk of infection once the membrane is no longer sealed.

It sound like early labor. The brown stuff could be bloody show or part of the mucous plug, and the gush could be a rupture of the membranes. If you don't want to go to the doctor before you're sure, put on a heavy duty pad and if it is soaked within an hour go to the hospital to get the fluid tested. If you are sent home, try taking a relaxin shower and walking can really get labor going. Best wishes and congrats!

That is more than likely your mucous plug...unless you are having contractions 5 minutes apart or less from the beginning of one to the beginning of the next for more than an hour or you know your water has broken just relax. Your mucous plug can go up to 2 or more weeks before labor begins, or it could go an hour before. But unless you are contracting as I said stay home and relax and prepare your's and the babies bags...and get those last minute things done...I am about 38 weeks now and I keep going to the hospital and getting turned away because I am over paranoid!

Yes, thats your mucus plug- you are 1 cen dialted so that is normal- thats the process of labor. You will probably have to go in. If they send you home they will give you instructions on what to watch for. Sometimes even though your water has broken or you've lost your mucus plug, you do not go into labor right away- but they will keep you in the hospital if your bag has ruptured.
:)
Smiles and congradulations- You are 37 weeks and my daughter was born at 37weeks- thats slightly premature but she is ok to come out. They wont force your labor and will just let it happen!

I lost my mucus plug about two weeks before I went into labor. It was sort of like you described. Not brown, but darker than usual mucus looking. I was at 1 cm for about 1.5-2 weeks. My water then broke. It wasn't much that came out either. I had to go in the doctor and they had to do a test because not much water came out because my daughter was so packed in there.

It could have been part of your mucus plug and your amniotic fluid may be leaking. You should call your Dr and go to the maternity triage to be checked for leakage.

Call your doctor. I'd say you are going into labor. Once the water breaks, they usually want you to go to the hospital right away. Have fun!

You're almost 38 weeks. Full term would be 40 weeks. So you very well could go into labor anytime soon.
If you're still leaking fluid, call your doc.
Congratulations!

How old are you, must be very young to be asking such a stupid question in this format. Also if you must ask at all speaks volumes of your lack of intelligence.
