Stuff is done faster and easier. Think about what it was like before calculators were invented (even before the abacus). Without those things, math would take so much longer to do and we wouldn't be able to do a lot of the calculations we can do today. That in turn, leads to less advanced architecture, computers, business, etc.

Technology is also fun - think about videogames and TV.

And one of the most important things is that it can help to protect us - think about airbags and even from a different perspective: weapons to be used in DEFENSE not offense.

E-mail, messaging, wireless technologies have enabled us to communicate more efficiently and quickly than ever before.
Advancements in technology saves lives, e.g MRI machines, new drugs, etc.
You are able to post a question like this and get answers almost instantaneously.
Advancements in communiaction technology is allowing people to work remotely.
The list is endless ..

Higher wages and a better lifestyle (i.e. being able to do things better reaps different rewards. The motor car meant we could travel faster and also had many other side effects, some good and some bad).
