The Mets do not play the Yankees. They play the Steinbrenners, whom they have already crushed this year. The Steinbrenners will not get past the first round of the playoffs, as they will be crushed by the wild card winner, either the White Sox or Twins; if the Red Sox make a comeback and the Steinbrenners take the wild card instead, then they suffer even worse degredations at the hands of the Tigers.

But let's suppose the Steinbrenners get lucky and there is a Subway Series. In that event, the Mets sweep.

The likely World Series is Mets-Tigers, which I think the Tigers will take in 5 or 6 depending on how many times Pedro Martinez gets to pitch (and if he pitches well). The Tigers will not crush the Mets, however. It will be a memorable World Series.

The Mets will crush the Yankees, just like the Red Sox will crush the Yankees as well, in the next series against the Yankees! Go SOX!!! ...also (Go METS!!!, as long as they keep beating the Yankees (aka - The Evil Empire)).

I think they will beat the Yankees, I'm not sure if they will crush them. The Yankees are pretty hard to crush. The Mets look right now like easily the best team in the NL.

If the Mets meet up with the Yankees again this year, I don't think the Mets will crush them in the World Series. I do think that the Mets have what it takes to win it and the Yankees will choke on it.

Mets take the series in 7 games.

Sorry, but no. I agree, the Mets have a great team, but they're great in the weak-sister league where they have no competition. Even when the Yanks were fresh into some horrible injuries all the Mets could do was split with them. Since then the Mets pitching has been in shambles and the Yanks have gotten tremendously better and are still getting healthier. The Yankees are more worried about the Twins in the ALCS than anyone in the NL, especially the Mets. How did 2000 go, Yanks in 5? Sorry, but the ticker tape parade won't be going through Queens this year.

Excuse me, but there's this team called the Tigers that the Yankees would have to get by first in the playoffs.

And the Tigers would crush the Mets in 6

The yankees aren't even going to make the world series and the last time they were there, they got crushed by a nobody team like the marlins.

Crush? It's possible but not likely. Win? Possible. They are both #1 in their leagues so it's anybodies guess.

Go Mets! : )

To the poster right above me: If the American league is better the why do the Mets have the 2nd best record in baseball right now?

Are u crazy!!!!! The Mets play in the National league, give it a rest. Anybody who knows anything about baseball knows the American Leauge is 10x better. When u have the Marlins in a wild card race, then u know ur pretty bad.
