The Korean conflict turned right into a disaster for the U. S.. It validated that a low technologies military with more advantageous numbers ought to win adversarial to a smaller stress with more advantageous technologies. It set the scene for Vietnam and quite a number of different conflicts there after excellent as a lot because the favourite day. It changed into also a political humiliation and the very incontrovertible reality that when 50+ years North Korea remains flipping the U. S. the chicken demonstrates that Washington's armed forces wondering s critically floored. The regimes in Cuba, Iran and Vietnam added demonstrate this. None of those old enemies changed into ever beaten both by a armed forces conflict or political isolation, or both. With this suggested, it did have 2 advantages. in the initiating, it allowed Washington to keep a delightful puppet authorities in South Korea and it allowed the U. S. to keep armed forces bases in Asia in the form of Japan throwing them out of Okinawa. This giving the U. S. more beneficial stress projection features. If there have been no Korean conflict those bases would not exist and the U. S. empire must be smaller. As a knock on, having outposts in South Korea allowed US businesses to get a foothold in South Korea, allowing quick food businesses alongside with McDonald and KFC an simple direction into the country. first they setup franchises in/close to the bases on land that the South Korean authorities has no administration over, and once the human beings there get used to the idea they boost.

ok first of all, it's not officers that put you through all the training at basic, its NCOs. And basic training isn't that bad unless you are WEAK. No one is treated like crap. You must be referring to what you've seen on TV. Not all Soldiers turn out to be bullies...thats a myth too. Bullying is not acceptable in the military...I should know, i've been in for 5 years. The military is not brutal. Where'd ya get your info? I'm guessing you aren't in the military.

You can bet there are militaries much more brutal than US Marines. The process you are talking about is the way soldiers are conditioned to take orders and work in teams. Thier egos are pounded down to stop them from thinking they know what is right, etc.Soldier are trained killers not matter where they come from and soldiers who cannot kill are no good to the military. They cannot be trained to like killing and many end up with post traumatic stress syndrom as a price for thier military service.

In war torn African nations, children are abducted, and forcibly concsripted into the brutal wars there. There is minimal training, no steady rations of food (only what the unit can steal), and no medical treatment.
As far as bullying within the military, in the U.S. military, there are recourse for soldiers to file complaints, as well as civilians to file similar complaints. In the African nations to which I refer, these conscripted units have zero accountability, and fall upon the citizenry unchecked. Beyond Darfur, Angola, and all the rest, similar situations can be found in Asia and South America.

doubt it! i know the UK and Australia are much more strict on the education level of the person wishing to join the military (providing the 2 highest educated military forces) so the yelling and abuse that the US army provides its military recruits wouldnt work in our countires......

Dude, I don't know where YOU went to boot (IF you ever did), but officers don't do anything but walk by and gawk. It's the NCOs that dish out the ****.
