the previous answerers were all correct. I will add this, if you are bent over, or if the crutches are digging into your armpits, you need to adjust the height of the crutches.

I broke my foot in mid-June and had to use crutches for the first 10 days or so. I had a heckuva hard time w/those crutches. The "trick" is to stand up as straight as you can and extend your arms. The idea is to use your upper body to support yourself. Easier said than done.

DON'T stick towels under your arms for cusions! It will rub against your skin and start to burn and cause a rash! wear long sleeves, and cusion underneath your arms with something fluffy and soft. Bubble wrap works great because it also trains you to use your hands more instead of so many arm muscles, because if you start to strain your arms the bubbles in the bubble wrap will pop!

I had the comparable problem once I had crutches. What somebody advised me to do is to get a textile and wrap it around. I used a small towel that grow to be extreme-high quality and delicate. It helped me. desire this helps.
