A question I deal with everyday.

1) Has it ever worked?
2) if so then it may be corrupted and a re-install from adobe.com will work.
3) If it works one time and not the other or crashes then acrobat runs in the background and the task has to be cancelled.
4) If all else fails there are many PDF readers that are non-adobe.

You need a PDF Reader like acrobat from adobe or any other one.
