the easiest way is probably head along A70 or A71 for M74 south, then M6, M61, M62 filnally M1. If you want a scenic route head for the A713 through Dalmellington till you get to the A75. Then follow Dumfries / Carlisle till you get to the M6. Have a good journey!

if you stay in north Ayrshire go the M8 to the M73 then on to the M74 all the way to the M6 save journey..
but if you live in south Ayrshire take the A713 to castle Douglas then the A75 to dumfries / carlise on to the M74 - M6....

Take the M74 South and head for the M1 this will help.or go to multi Map com and type in your plan

ooh erm.. head towards Glasgow on the a77... that turns into the M77 and then the M8. head down the M74 towards Carlisle and that's as far as I know...
