like almost every gay guy i have met told me that im beautiful and that I should be a supermodel and ive gotten that from alot of other people that wernt gay but i dunno it seems kinda weird cause i thought gay guys only liked men? so i was just wondering if thats a bad thing

Darling darling darling, just because a gay guy tells you you're beautiful or pretty doesn't mean he's attracted to you in THAT way. No, it's not a bad thing sweetie, it's always a compliment when a person says you're beautiful unless they're being sarcastic. These gay guys are probably just stating a fact, you must be a beautiful woman. I tell my gal pals when they look nice all the time, and there's nothing wrong with that, and I'm still gay. Hun, ... people are like art. You can tell when, say, your best girl friend looks good one day without being a lesbian, can't you? It's the same thing with us queer dudes, we can reconize beauty no matter what the gender of the person is, it's just that we only have a physical ATTRACTION to other guys. Basically it's the same thing when a girl asks her gay guy friend if her butt looks big in her new pair of jeans. I could look at your *** and tell you without getting aroused by it. Trying to rape someone is not friendly behavior no matter who does it. If he trusts and values you as a friend, he needs to treat you better, and if he wants to experiment with being hetero with you, that is a mutual issue for both of you to give serious thought to. You can set a limit on what he does physically based on your own desires and integrity. It must be disappointing to not feel safe with your friend. If the friendship has a strong basis, you two will work it out. If not, this guy is doing things that probably would make you uncomfortable in a straight guy, too, right? That's not the right way to treat a friend or a lover. If you do decide to experiment with him, please use birth control AND a barrier contraceptive (condom). Gay people don't flame me, this is from a gay person who knows statistics, and wants young people to be careful, not a bigot.

That's not a bad thing at all. If anyone can call true beauty out, it's a gay man(who really has it together!). Accept it for what it is...a compliment. Just because a man or a woman is gay, that doesn't mean that we can't appreciate attractive people of the opposite sex. Look how Rosie gushes over Tom Cruise(I don't see WHY, but to each their own!). Work your magic so people can appreciate your beauty..inside and out!

It is a compliment, and with as critical as some gay men are, a very high one. They know real beauty when they see it and if they say they think you could be a model, they honestly think you could be a model. Gay men are very straight forward with whats on thier mind, there is no other motive in it. And to above, no they do not always want to be women, most of them are happy being who they are the way they are.

Just because a guy is gay does not mean he is unable to appreciate a beautiful woman. I'm gay and have never been attracted to a woman but just because I'm gay doesn't know I don't know what a hot woman is, but that doesn't mean I want to sleep with them. Oh, and the comment about wanting to be a real woman - total crap. That guy has mixed up homosexual with transgendered. Not every gay guy wants to be a woman.

Gay guys have like the best taste in everything! If a gay guy told u that u were pretty,take that as a compliment for sure.They are really some of the nicest people and make great friends.I always said I wanted a gay guy for my best friend-just havn't found him yet.

Well, the best way to describe this phenomenon is to imagine a celebrity woman who you think is very pretty, or maybe you think is a beautiful woman. I'm gay and I can tell the difference between a Margaret Thatcher and a Naomi Campbell.

It's a good question. But most gay men truly appreciate beauty, and we are not intimidated by a beautiful woman, as we are NOT trying to get her into bed, so we feel free to compliment you and you won't take it as a fake thing.

Maybe they call you pretty because you are pretty.
Just because they are gay doesn't mean they are blind. Presumably you are straight, and I'm sure that there have been times when you thought your female friends looked really pretty (weddings, proms, good hair days, etc).
Or as a lesbian girl I once knew used to say, "Just because I'm a lesbian, it doesn't mean that I can't appreciate the female form. I just don't want to f*ck it."

Just because gay men aren't attracted to women doesn't mean they can't appreciate a beautiful woman. I'm not sexually attracted to cars, but I think my Saab is beautiful.
