I've given over 600 reports on books (for nothing). Amazon.com uses volunteer reviewers and they do it for free and compete to get the most helpful votes. The votes determine the reviewers' ranking on Amazon. I've made it to the TOP 1000 Reviewer ranking.
It pleases me, but cost Amazon nothing. What a great system they have!

No. My time is worth more than $10.00. Maybe for $27.00 per hour plus a cost of living allowance (COLA) I might consider it, with time & 1/2 for anything over 8 hours ($40.50), including the reading, organization, rough draft, and outline. In addition, I require a 6 minute break on every hour included in: 1/2 hour break before 1/2 lunch, & 20 minute break after lunch. If it is done on the weekend it is time & 1/2 pay for Saturday ($40.50), & double time pay for Sunday ($54.00), holidays are out of the question as I would require triple time; (I'm almost sure of this as you only want to pay a flat rate of $10.00 for all this work. In addition, my hourly rate does not include supplies, as premium printing paper & new print cartridge, will be provided by you. YOU might be able to get away with this in Mexico or China, but I happen to live in the USA, and this is not a third world country, YET, You might save yourself the $10.00 by doing the report yourself.

No...why should I get paid to do something that I can do for free?

And why exactly would someone want to pay /me/ to read a book and write a review about it? I'm not a professional critic.

Yes , given that the book wasn't too terribly long .

I would because I like to read but if I didn't like to read then I probably would't. And of course if it's something boring then I also wouldn't.
