and the doctor came to you and said that she and the baby were in danger of losing their lives but told you that they could save one of them would you pick for them to try and save your girlfriend/wife or your baby?

I would hope that couples would talk about this before labor starts. I would want them to save my child. My husband knows this.

This is a subject most soon to be parents discuss, most mom's to be will tell you to save the baby, but, if you might loose both, try to save the mom, odds are she is stronger than the infant and will pull through, with the option to have more later, or adopt if you must.
But, if she is adamant about her feelings if this were to happen, have her put it writing and given to the Dr.
Otherwise, most Dr.s automatically pick the Mother and the child, they won't have time to come ask you to pick, they will be to busy trying to save them both!!

I would save my wife/gf. However, if the scenerio was my born child (any age) and wife/gf on a sinking ship and I could only save one...it would always be the children...not a second thought about it.

i would most likely save my wife cuz we can always make another baby with her. it wouldnt be the same but i would save my wife.

We faced this situation earlier this year and we decided to look for a second opinion and we prayed and ask for God's will...all three lived. Yes we had twins...
