I think counseling might be in order. It does seem very suspicious, but without definite proof, there isn't much you can work with. If he is lying, then there are a lot more problems on the way. I'm sorry you have to go through this, relationship problems can really drain the life and soul out of you. Keep faith that things will get better one way or the other. If you think about it, the girls voice you heard might have been a tv, and the stains might be food or something else besides lipstick. Maybe he was really stressed about going away for work and that's why he was acting all loopy - look at all angles, then follow your heart.

You will have to decide in the end whether you want to keep going with him or kick him out. You know he cheated on you. Can you forgive and go on? I sure wouldn't let him touch me unless he was wearing protection. Who knows what he may have gotten from the other woman (or women?). If he is offended by that idea then tell him to go get tested for STDs and show you the results of the test. If he is clean, then the protection is no longer needed.

Usually a woman's gut feelings are right. It certainly sounds suspicious to me. Trust your intuition. He probably will continue to deny everything regardless of how much you'd like to know the truth... but I would come to the conclusion that he DID do something based upon everything that you've confided. You have to decided what you're willing to tolerate and what you won't. You know in your heart of hearts that something isn't right here. Perhaps you should tell him that the two of you need to speak with a relationship counselor together because you're having a hard time trusting him (then see what the counselor says). If he won't go... go by yourself.
Best wishes.

From what you say, there are too many signs to be a coincidence or your imagination: he did cheat on you and has no remorse about it.
Now you got to decide what to do with it. Even tho change is hard, look at your priorities, you are certainly worth more then that.
Don't take the abuse.

Sounds to me like he had a fling and now the girl wants nothing to do with him. He's probably still turned on by the thought of her. I would not let him touch me. And don't let him insult your intelligence. Lipstick on his shorts? Come on now. Get rid of him. He could give you a serious disease.

TRUST YOUR INSTINCT! trust your instinct....trust your instinct....TRUST YOUR INSTINCT! When you thought you heard girls voices you did! When he laughed when you asked that was his defense mechanism kicking in! He's back becausee you let him back! For your own protection tell him if he wants to have sex with you he needs to be tested becaus you simply don't believe his asinine excuse for the lipstick , etc..etc.. It's going to start unraveling and it won't be pretty and you will hurt because you trusted him. But if you let him step all over you and insist you're suspicions are delusional etc. then you're really setting yourself up for a major blow to your self ego! Get a back bone TRUST YOUR INSTINCT you're smart he's the looser to have thought you would put up with his doggy ways. Don't let him poop on you! Love is blind it doesn't have to be stupid. Each time he thinks he gets away with lying to you and causing you to self doubt each time you're letting him chisel away your pride and self esteem! If you fall for his tricks you have only yourself to blame because you're not trusting your instincts!

I think you should dump him. He treated you like crap and you're going to take him back why? If there's lipstickon his shirt and shorts...what more proof do you need? Hello...someone didn't sneak into his suitcase and kiss his shorts when he wasn't looking. I wouldn't give him sex either...no one knows what he's caught....

Take it from someone that's been in a very similar situation,
HE CHEATED!!!!!
Don't let him convince you that he's innocent. Stand your ground. You already know the answer to your question. Now what are you going to do about it?

You should leave if you are not able to get over it. If you can work it out then go to counseling together. Think about yourself. Good Luck!
