If it's 06 or later, changing anything will effect the O2 sensor in the exhaust system, causing the bike to run poorly. There's a guy on ebay; site name is bobvic. He's a machinist and gets stock harley pipes from FL models and completely reworks (not drills) the insides. He has several different mods; the least expensive is under a 100 bucks for the pair and the pipes are outtasite. I bought his more expensive set and they were 150, but WELL worth it. Guys with 800 dollar V&H and Rinehart pipes are really impressed. If you can't find him by name, search for Harley Pipes. He'll be in there. Really knowlegeable, really helpful and his stuff is great. And with his stuff you GAIN hp, not lose it. BTW, straight pipes don't reduce hp, just bottom end torque. You still have all your horseys in the top end. You also may want to look into a Revtech DFO and K&N air cleaner kit (with replacement backplate, not just the filter). Ask Bob about that stuff. He really helped me, and I was able to do it all myself. Got roughly twice the power gain of a 1200 dollar Harley shop Stage One kit for a total of about 400 plus an hour and a half of relatively easy work. Get out there and ride, pal!

Thunder Monster Baffles

Yes, but after doing so, disconnect the battery for about 5 min, and when you re-connect the battery, the computer will re-boot, and re-set to the lower back pressure. Don't however remove all baffles because you will loose valuable horsepower. Leave as many in as will suite your taste.
In agreement with the other guy below, it is definately better to get a set of pipes that are tuned for your use. How ever that is not to say that you can't take baffles out, but like I said, you will loose valuable horse power, but still get that sound you're looking for.

purchase a series of "Rush" slip-ons, you will get the overall performance and sound you're searching for devoid of having to clutter with the motor. i've got have been given an '08 night-practice that I positioned them on, yet i wanted it slightly louder so I pulled the baffles out and bumped off the warmth insulation around the baffle then positioned the baffles back in, it sounds incredible. Made the sound deeper and did no longer harm the bike one bit. Oh and once you're even the slightest bit routinely susceptible, you could positioned them on your self and save some $$$ from the broking doing it. The sellers are out to make money besides they are able to. what's the version fairly in case you have a inventory pipes devoid of baffles or overall performance pipes devoid of baffles...umm, besides approximately $six hundred??

Once you take the baffles out, you have to make the exhaust pipe longer, make it a little shorter at a time, to get it tuned.

No you'll probably gain just a very small bit.
You have less restrictions on the exhaust gases.
