i have a intel PIII 700 mhz processor, i want to know what is the maximum size of hard disk it can address, if there is no limit what would be a decent size for this conf. with 1 gb RAM with good processing speed.

It's not the processor, it is often the Motherboard. But the limit might also be the version of Windows.

Windows 98 - 32GB
Windows 2000 - 137GB - can be patched to higher
Windows XP - they don't make one that HITS the limit yet.

it depends on the motherboard, and the operating system.
Windows xp is 4 terabytes. while I heard it was 2 in 98 I believe. It was going to double in Vista to 8 terabites

I don't think theres a limit, my amd athlon 800mhz supported my 120gb maxtor with no problems, 200-300gb will work.

60 Gigs would be sufficient.
