Fix it. Be honest and up front. Sometimes just by being honest will get you going far.

You can be fired for lying on your application especially if you've been convicted of a crime.'

Alot of employers do criminal background checks so an omission such as an arrest record is grounds to not only fire someone but also not hire them.

If you really want the position contact them immediately by phone and explain the arrest was so long ago (hopefully it was) that you forgot about it until after completing the forms. Honesty is what they are looking for, alot of people get arrested in their youth but grow into responsible adults but a lie says volumes about your respect for others and responsibilty to others.

Contact them now and hope for the best but expect a poor reaction and to possibly lose the job, next time be honest and if you don't know or can't recall just write that down and offer to follow up. I had to do this once for a traffic incident that was decades ago because I wasn't sure if the charge was a felony or misdemeanor and the question wanted any and all convictions dating back to age 18.

Hon, you seem sweet, but your spelling doesn't seem that great. maybe you should just wait and see if they call you for an interview. Then you can explain what happened in person. You certainly don't want to send a letter with a lot of misspelled words. That is actually worst of a crime than whatever you did.

Yawn you know there is a spell check? Don't worry about it unless they will do a background check. A letter of apology? Forget that. All it will do is draw more attention to what you are trying to hide. If you insist upon writing a letter of apology(futile), then make sure you use spell check.

most employers will do a background and credit check anyway. if you really want this job, you should be honest and let them know. face up and tell them the truth. it will only hurt you more if they find out themselves. they will fire you on the spot.

dont write a letter. call and explain the situation...if they are cool about it, then you know you will like working there, if not...well then you shouldnt have lied in the first place and there are consequences...

good luck though!

Don't tell them if they don't find out. And if you intend on that apology letter, make sure everything is spelled right.
