It seems like I've had this problem for 8 years, but I can't remember exactly. My boyfriend says I should go to the doctor, but I don't think this is serious enough. I think it may be normal, even though he doesn't have this problem and insists there's something wrong with me.

My problem is that if I go without eating for two meals, I'll feel really bad. I don't skip meals often. I'll get a headache and nausea, and then I can't eat. It's really hard to eat after I've started with the symptoms. My stomach burns really bad and anything I eat, it's really hard not to vomit it back up. It gets pretty bad. Does anyone else out there have this problem? Should I bother going to the doctor?

Yes you should. It sounds like the missing of meals has caused you to develop GERD(gastro-esophagial reflux disease). You need to see the radiology dept in your local hospital and schedule a barium swallow procedure. This is where they have you drink a thick liquid and x-ray it as its going down. Dont worry, its a painless procedure, the thick liquid isnt the greatest, but its painless none the less. This will give the radiologist a view of your stomach and guage how bad the reflux is. This commonly can cause naussea. Your headaches are simple. Its just your body telling you that you are low on nutrients. But if you want to be on the overly safe side, get a blood test for dibeties. Either way, you need to stop skipping meals. Hope this helps and I hope you feel better.

You may not need to go to a doctor, but I would try not to skip any meals. Your body gets used to having meals at a certain time and expects it.

If not fed appropriately your body automatically goes into a starvation mode to reserve energy. Headaches and nausea is in a way for your body to signal that it needs nutrition.

I will get a headache if I don't eat when I should. But I have for a long time skipped breakfast, so over a period of time my body got used to it and does not complain until close to noon.

However I have noticed that if I do eat breakfast I do tend to be more alert and more efficient, cause my body is not in a starvation mode and it can work normally.

My dear, You sound like you may acid reflux or GERD. Gastroesophageal Reflux Disorder. Go to a Gastroenterologist. I had the same thing. I lost so much weight. At one point I weighed 98 pounds. The doctor prescribed Prilosec. It works. But for the time being go to your local pharmacy/drugstore and buy some Zantac 75, see if that works for you.

i have the cure for you, dont miss a meal , if you dont know when you will be away from home for a while, take a bottle of water and a couple of non chocolate coated energy bars. your sugar is out of balance when you dont eat and its the same as a diabetics insulin shock, so do not by any means allow yourself to go without some decent food around. not junk. you might be hypoglycemic or maybe its simply because of missing the meal but dont do it again, and consider seeing a doctor.

That happens to me. I usually start off with something light like soup. Then once you tummy adjusts to food being in there you will start to feel better.
