Cobras account for most of the human snake-bite deaths in the world. The smaller forest cobras in Africa and Asia feed on the rodents attracted by human activity, so they live in the fields around towns. The natives go barefoot or with sandals and get bitten often.
Cobras are fast, skittish animals, and almost any cobra has enough of a pretty potent venom to kill most people.

I pray to god you arent planning on obtaining a venomous snake as a pet. Venomous snakes are not in any way the ideal pet especially for the novice. Besides the fact that cobras are incredibly venomous they are tempermental, fast and strong. If you have indeed found someone who is willing to sell you a cobra reconsider the decision and consider something harmless like a moutain kingsnake, afterall they sort of look like coral snakes which consequently are venomous.

No, not by a long shot. Cobras are sweet gentle animals that wouldn't hurt a fly. Pick one up and give it a big ol' kiss. It will try to give you one back.

A cobra can only harm you if it bites you, then you're in big trouble. Leave them alone & watch them on TV or at the zoo.

Ask a stupid question. No they are not. You can go and give a kiss to one right on the mouth and they will just love you for it. Dumbass. And its venomous there isnt a single poisonous snake on the planet. Its called venom. Hence the term venomous. Poisonous snake is my biggest pet peeve. Sorry if I offended you, but maybe you needed to be offended.
