If so, this must be a good place to hook up with the opposite gender. Should you initiate a conversation or would the other person prefer to just read and be left alone?

It is always wonderful to get lost in the book that I am reading. initiate a conversation is good yet it is no match compare with the fun that I have when in deep in thoughts. Just to place myself into the situation which the book describes. So yes, I would spend most of the vacation days in bookstores.

Truly introverted people spend their vacation at home. You tend to see other people at bookstores, and there's always a risk that someone tries to initiate a conversation. But you could find someone mentally healthy and a little introvert to date with from a bookstore; people hanging around there don't mind too much if someone speaks to them. At least they don't usually have a seizure because of that, so no harm trying.

Vacations in bookstores? Uhhh, I don't think so....maybe hiking, going to the beach, etc.
If the person is reading an interesting book, why not strike up a conversation, or ask a question? If they're not interested, they'll probably let you know pretty quickly. Quiet, reflective, thoughtful discussion might not be an unwelcome distraction.

No, reading at the beach. They're all cast iron like that. Nothing gets through.
