What's a good website to go to in order to figure out the amount of river rock I need for landscaping?

I am trying to lay river rock in my dog run to stop the digging and not have to worry about the grass.

Measure the area as close as possible.

If there are too many irregular areas, divide them up to rectangles.

So Length X Width X depth.

I use feet, whatever unit you measure in, keep it all the same.

2" = .6'
3" = .25'
4" = .3333'

I wouldn't have a ground cover, even rock. less than 2" thick.

SO, if I have an area 45' long X 20' wide and I want 2" thick it's,
45' X 20' X .6' = 540 cubic feet

Yards that sell rock like to know cubic yards, so there are 27 cubic feet in a cubic yard.

SO, 540 cu. ft. / 27 = 20 cubic yards , Yikes! Hire about 3 or 4 workers.

they sell it buy the ton, 1 1/3 cub. yds is about a ton.....sure u can figure a cubic yd......cheaper to get a dog fence that is animal safe .just run the wire on 3/4 pvc pipe and after they hit it a few times u can cut it off for good....it only shocks about every 5 secs so not a worry to hurt animals.......

trust me you need a lot! to make it really nice, one full truck load (standard truck, just not all at once!)
not sure if you can really find any specifics.
there are too many variables. such as the size of the rocks, how far you want to go, etc..
