First of all anti-semitism isn't only hatred of jews as arabs are also semitic people. Secondly, by definition being opposed to the state of Israel is not necessarily anti-jewish. But lets get real. The biggest proponents of this jews are good, zionists are evil attitude are those supporting the islamo-fascist goal to destroy Israel BECAUSE they hate all jews. Don't be fooled by their rhetoric....they have NEVER loved jews. This little tune is being sung for the benefit of the western world. They know that especially after the holocaust westerners are just not going to go along with their anti-jew campaign, so they tried to cloud the issue by saying it is really the evil zionists they are against. Well guess what...I am a zionist (though not a jew) because I support the idea of a jewish state. So they can hate me too.

Of course. Israel is a country, Judaism a religion. You can be anti-Israel and non Anti-Semitic. That is the same as to ask if there's any difference between being anti-IRA and anti-Catholic or between being anti-Saddam and anti-Muslim.

Not really. Anti semites try to hide behind claims of being against Israel or being anti Zionist. It's all the same thing.

Yes, being anti-israel means to be against the nation of Israel. Anti-semitism is to be against the Jewish religion and those who follow it, the Jews. For example just because Mel Gibson is Anti-Semetic it doesn't mean he is anti-insrael.

Yes, anti-semitism is hating people for being jewish.
Being anti-israel could either be anti-semitism or the hate of a country illegally manufactured by the U.S.
As far as I am concerned, the U.S. had no right to displace hundreds of thosands of palenstinians just to give a country to a group of people. If they wanted it so bad, they should of done it themselves, and the U.S. should of just ignored it. But no, there is to much money to be made with a country like israel.

Semitism is another name for the Jews. It comes from Shem, the 2nd son of Noah.
The Jews were called Israelites because of Jacob, son of Abraham, when God changed is name from Jacob to Israel.
They got the name Jews from their neighbors because of their Capitol city being named Jerusalem
So to be Anti-Israel or Anti-Semitism would be the same thing.

Anti-Israel means you have a negative opinion with the nation; Anti-Semitism means you have a negative opinion with the people.

well... like anything else.. it's how you define it... but I think that according to the dictionary... yes there is a difference...
anti-Semitic often is associated with thinking that all jews are evil and are the cause of many of the worlds problems...
anti-Israel could merely mean that you don't agree with the policies that the nation supports.. nothing more than that...

Yes there is, but most people are not sophisticated enough to see the difference or they are sophisticated enough and they just support israel so anyone speaking against israel is an anti-semite.
To be sophisticated doesn't make a person right, it just makes them more dangerous to their enemies.

There is a difference between Anti-Isreal and Anti-Semitism. Anti Semitism is defined as a hatred towards Jewish people for no apparent reason. Disagreeing with Isreal's stance on something such as Lebanon and Hezbollah doesn't make you an anti-semite. Being Anti-Isreal, to me, is hatred towards the country of Isreal..disagreement on the country's stance on an issue doesn't mean you're Anti-Isreal at all, contrary to batch93's belief. Like I just mentioned, if you disagree with Isreal's stance on a certain issue such as Lebanon and Hezbollah, then you aren't Anti-Isreal at all; you just disagree with their stance. It has nothing to do with hating Isreal at all.
