I am a Republican. As the democratic party now stands I will not vote for any of its candidates. This was not always true. While I have always been more conservative than liberal it is only recently that I started voting a straight ticket. The people in the Democratic party used to have ideas and were actually willing to listen to their constituents, not any more. They have no thoughts except Bush is bad and we are against anything he comes up with. That is their total idea. We the people need more than that. I'm not real happy with the Republican party right now but I think they at least have ideas and are finding ways to connect with the people of this country.

Such is the problem with a two party system. At this point in time, one of four things can happen;
1.) The Democrats and Republicans continue as they are now. The percentage of people who vote will continue to plummet, political apathy will rule, and partisan bickering will seriously harm the country.
2.) The Democrats and Republicans will get back in touch with their respective constituencies. The Republicans will get rid of the large government, fiscally irresponsible neoconservatives and go back to their traditional, fiscally conservative, small government, states' rights roots. The Democrats will get back in touch with their principles as the socially progressive opposition party to the Republicans.
3.) The American public will finally get fed up with both parties, and they will be replaced by minor parties who better represent their liberal and conservative interests (most likely the Greens and Libertarians, respectively).
4.) The American electoral system will change to a system that encourages multiple parties (such as instant runoff voting), breaking the two party stranglehold on politics.

I am afraid the dems and reps are so paralyzed with PC that neither will be able or willing to turn their attention on American citizens any time soon. It is the One World thing, I think, and it is bigger than any one president and legal body. Something is taking place worldwide that I do not believe the people will be privy to prior to some things having been decided. It does not augur well for we the people. Problem is, voting is a must, a huge must but it needs to be done by people who listen to what is happening and who read and listen to talk radio. Why else would the democrats be courting illegal aliens now? The Dems must believe that much of the Southwest will be reclaimed by Mexico. How does one respond to that? And how could we even be talking about such a thing? There is a tinge of Twilight Zone - at least out here in CA. Did anyone ever think regular, everyday citizens would be at the border "guarding" us? Building a fence to stem the tidal wave? And, two border patrol agents convicted in TX for shooting a fleeing drug smuggler who snuck in across the border? The guy punched one of the agents and jumped in his truck and fled across the border. He was shot in the a ss. The agents are facing 20 years in prison. They were doing their job but they violated the illegal alien's "rights." What in hell is going on?

I think that is a definite yes, considering democrats more and more are going extreme left wing, supporting people like Michael Moore, who don't think about whether or not a republican is possibly right or wrong, but rather, who's more anti-war, who's more anti-gun, who's more anti-bush, who's more anti-friggen everything. Michael moore has turned the big candidates into his personal patsies, giving a speech basically saying that if they didn't declare their allegiance to his anti-republic/iraq war ideal, they would be 'exiled' from the democrat party. The completely stupid thing is that all three of them, Kerry, Edwards and Clinton later that same week did what he basically told them to.

No. study your article. for the duration of Pennsylvania's usual, he did no longer advise Clinton or Obama. while Obama secured the nomination, Altmire pronounced he might help the nominee - nevertheless heading off an all-out endorsement. Western Pennsylvania Democrats, like those in any Rust Belt region, are no longer as in music with the national social gathering as, say, Philly and its collar counties would be.

A political party is a coalition of people who seek the same things in government.
The Dems are a fractured and splintered organization comprised of multiple extremist factions. It is real simple, they are no longer an effective political party under the current leadership.

The only demo's that get into the fray are the nut cases that have to go off the wall to have the media keep the beat going for them, even if it is all sour notes. As long as they get their names spelled correctly it doesn't matter of the issues. These people have the republicans go first with a solution, and then it's only too easy to find fault. The idea is to keep your opponent looking wrong about everything and be sure to link them in anyway to racism, which is also too easy, what with people looking to be offended to gain lime-light and publication. If it were possible for we the people to dismantle it all and start all over with men instead of the three blind mice that lead this present governship, then thats where I would go with whatever impowerment I have.

I do agree with you! If the Democratic Party does not step up and back a respectable candidate then we can be assured of another 4 years of republican propaganda. Hillary Clinton is NOT the answer that this country needs. And yes, I am democrat.

I think you're going to see a change... it's clearly already started...
Obamas going to be big... and he's good...
Edwards and Warner are solid... and from the South...
I think all this Hillary/Kerry/Gore stuff won't even be an issue in 2008... I hope the new guys are coming and will make some changes for the better
