Hi there. Even though all of my books are available in both eBook and print, most people still prefer a printed book they can put in their hands to read.
However, I have found that free eBooks are terrific as promotional tools for printed books. I use short demo eBook versions to give readers the opportunity to read the first 4 to 10 chapters of my books so they don't have to spend any money to find out if the book is right for them. That doesn't cost me anything and readers are able to download the demo right away and read it on their computer. Then, if they like it, there is a link in the demo to order the full print or eBook versions. Cool huh?
If any of you would like to read a demo of my newest medieval fantasy epic, THE BLACKGLOOM BOUNTY, just email me at FiveStarAuthor@aol.com and I'll send it right away.
That's my two cents worth. Good luck, whatever you decide to read.

Weird some books that i know i'll read over and over, i will buy from the store regardless of where that store is. I like the touch of the pages and being able to read it anytime. When i have a book copy, i can slide it into my purse or carry it with me. When i have to mark my place i just fold the corner. I dont have to wait for anything to download once i get it or my battery to charge. I work in a call center and when i have down time i read books, even a sentence or two, because of acct security no electronic devices allowed. So i will wait for me to get a paperback copy. I really dont like digital copy, it takes away for me, i have a problem with memory and battery life. My next favorite option is digtgal audio. I am a friend of the library so i get books on cd, digtial audio for my phone or they have a small mp3 that has just the story on it. The only bad thing about those, if its damaged or some people doing really bad voice overs.

I really prefer reading actual books. It gives me a time when I can say "To heck with my computer." and go curl up somewhere quiet for awhile. It's also nice to be able to hold a book in my hands, and smell the paper.
When you read a new e-book does it smell like binding glue, ink and paper? No. It never smells the way an old book does either. And no question about leather binding. I like being able to feel the different characteristics of a book and smell its age.
That is why I love working in a bookshop. :3

The like the actual book. It is so transportable and durable. I don't have to worry about how long it takes to download, if my batteries for the laptop will last or even being plugged in.
I like the feeling of the paper between my thumb and finger.
When you are taking a break, you can see physically how far you have read and how much is left.
When you are done, there is more of a sense of accomplishment as you set the book back on the shelf.

Well as I don't have a laptop and I do love reading in bed, it's the whole texture thing too, turning pages. I have to say books not ebooks but I am not adverse to books on tape.

A real book is better for me, trying to read something on the screen bothers my eyes after a while.
Though I guess e-books are cool if you're traveling a lot and stuff, but I would hate to see real books replaced completely by e-books, which doesn't look like it's going to happen anytime soon.

E-Books are widely distributed on the Internet now.
Also, you can get books in all fields for free and without having to go ut of your home to buy one.
But if u r talking about the pleasure from reading,I would prefer books than e-books coz I think there is human need to feel controlling things and humans will get that from holding books more than reading on screen...

I prefer reading an actual book. I enjoy sitting outside on the swing or reading in a hot bubble bath. Then when I'm ready for bed, I can take it with me.

It's hard to read Ebooks in the bathtub or in bed. I read online for info, but use real books for pleasure reading.
