To give an example, when I was born, Blondie topped the charts in my country with 'Denis'. Though I like that it was a punk group topping the charts, unfortunately "I've got a crush on you" etc only applies to me every now and then ;o)

I'm not sure if my Mum would have been listening to hear who, specifically, was at number one when she was lumbering around with me 'kicking at the door' so to speak.
However if she had the radio on she would have likely heared;
Lobo - I'd love you to want me.
Peters & Lee - Don't stay away too long.
New Seakers - You won't find another fool like me.
Three Degrees - When will I see you again.
Sweet sensation - Sad sweet dreamer.
and
Bad Company - Can't get enough.

She may even have been to watch the movie 'Blazing Saddles'.

I think I can apply all of the above, don't you?

You think that a song on the charts the day you were born "applies" to you in what way?

Never heard of that in my life.

Well, I looked up the top 10 songs of the year I was born.
The number one was Hey Jude, by the Beatles..

But in the top four spot was "sitting by the dock of the bay" by Otis Redding. I happen to like that one the best...Still

Great question. I enjoyed looking up the songs and answering! Thanks.....
