Graph the line that has the given intercepts.

x-intercept:4
y-intercept:6

I've looked over all my class notes and read the chapter! This does not make sense!!!

x-intercept is where a line intercepts (crosses) the x axis. At this point, y = 0.

So your x-intercept is (4, 0)

y-intercept is where a line intercepts (crosses) the y axis. At this point, x = 0

So your y-intercept is (0, 6)

Draw a line between these two points, and that's your answer.

The function is y = (-3/2)x + 6

The x-intercept of 4 means the graph crosses the x-axis at 4, so graph a point on the x-axis where x= 4. Then do the same thing with the y-intercept at 6 on the y-axis. Play connect the dots and you have a line.

Good luck.

I am assuming that x-intercept and y-intercept are the points at which the line crosses the x and y axis, respectively.

Given that assumption, you have a line that crosses the x axis at the positive 4 point, and the y axis at the positive 6 point.

Draw an x-y axis (one line up and down, one line left to right. On the line up and down (the y axis), mark off even spaces counting to six above the horizontal line. On the line going left to right (the x axis), mark off even spaces counting to 4 to the right of the vertical line. Then, draw a line that connects the sixth point on the y axis to the 4th point on the x axis, and your done.

x-intercept means where the graph crosses the x-axis; y-intercept means where it crosses the y-axis. So put a dot on 4 on the x-axis, and a dot on 6 on the y-axis, and draw a line through the two dots.

x intercept is where the line crosses the x axis, same thing for the y axis....... so the line is going to go like this \ crossing 4 at the x axis and 6 at the y axis

that means they hit the graph at (4,0) and (0, 6)

so first draw a point on the x axis at (4,0) on the..right side right?

then draw a point on the y axis at (0,6) on the top part of the y axis

connect the dots, and u will get a line.

your slope is y2-y1/x2-x1 something like that right? so u do

6-0/0-4 = 6/-4 = -3/2

so your m = -3/2, b = x intercept is 4

y = -3/2x + 4

make a little dot on the x axis (horizontal line) at number 4

then make a little dot on the y axis (vertical line) at number 6

then draw a line through them as if connecting the two dots, but extend the line further on both sides.

If I could draw it here I would - but hope the above explanation will help you understand.
